Mosaic Go-Mai
This is one of those projects that I am having a really hard time selling. It has honestly set in motion an intense internal debate as to even listing it - but at the end of the day, the fact you are reading this now reveals my decision.
Details:
All forging was done my me - with my own pattern welded steel.
Mosaic Damascus core steel of 1084 and 15N20.
15N20 shims.
1084 outer jackets.
The total length measures 9 3/4 inches overall.
The cutting edge measures 4 3/8 inches.
The spine is 5.7 mm thick at its thickest point. It is thick enough that you can catch a beautiful glimpse of that mosaic core steel along the spine and again at the ricasso. It is SO cool!
The guard is bronze with a patina.
There is a nickel silver shim, and a matching nickel silver domed pin.
The handle may appear black in a lot of these photos, but I can assure you that it is not. The Maple burl handle is a deep chocolate color with a lot of depth and subtle beauty to its burl action.
The sheath is a right handed, vertical carry design. Made from Veg tanned leathers of a variety of thicknesses to each component.
It has an inlay on the front panel of embossed alligator print. Basket weave for the rear panel.
As always, this was all hand sticthed using Ritza tiger thread.
