This is a 142 total layer twist Damascus Sam mai.
The core (edge) material is 80CrV2.
The overall length measures 8 3/4”
The cutting edge measures 4”
The spine is .230 thick at its thickest point, making the overall weight fairly hefty, but it is well balanced.
The handle material is a very rare piece of micro curly spalted Siamese rosewood. This wood is some of the rarest, and most expensive in my collection.
I sourced this material from the United Kingdom, although the original tree was likely harvested from Thailand or Laos.
The pins are black g10
The right handed sheath is made from 8 oz veg tan leather for the main body, with a 2 oz inner liner, with an embossed alligator inlay between the two.
All stitching was done by hand, with artificial sinew.
As always, this knife was heat treated in a precision heat treating oven for optimal performance.
